ETA Series

Flow Sciences’ ETA Series Contained Vented Enclosures are designed for maximum containment with the use of airfoils and plenums, creating a laminar airflow across the work surface, which reduces eddies and turbulence.

The ETA Series features a front door lift that allows for easy loading and unloading of equipment. The single 4” thick HEPA filter and fan is ideal for benchtop / scale up and nanotechnology applications, and has been proven by an independent test organization to contain loss to below 1 µg/mbased on process and quality. The top-mounted exhaust system can recirculate air into the lab or send it directly to the house exhaust without transferring vibration from the fan unit to the work surface.

As an additional safety measure, FSI’s Contained Vented Enclosures feature a face velocity alarm that visually and audibly alerts the operator when airflow is compromised. These features allow for reproducibility and accuracy of weighing. In case of an accident, the dished phenolic base is chemically resistant and designed to contain spills.

The ETA Series is available in 3’ or 4’ standard width units and features options such as LED lights and waste ports to safely transfer contaminants from the enclosure.

EHA Series

SAFETY. The Hybrid Isolator series provides containment for highly toxic applications using APIs that need more safety than an opened face enclosure. FSI engineering controls are built in to prevent loss of containment. Third Party testing has proven containment on these units to below 50 ng/m3 based on process and quantity.

DESIGN. Designed as the next step in containment above the Top Mounted CVE, this unit is able to effectively contain using airfoils and plenums to create laminar airflow across the work surface and reduce eddies and turbulence. The Hybrid Isolator system is equipped with dual 4” HEPA filters that can be recirculated into the lab or sent directly to house exhaust.

PHENOILIC BASE. The chemically resistant phenolic base is dished to maintain spills and protects the work surface from harmful chemicals.
DUAL SPEED FAN. This enclosure includes a 2 speed adjustable fan that automatically switches between high and low speed depending on the draft shield being attached or unattached.

ACRYLIC WALLS. The clear acrylic walls are used for increased ambient light transmission.

INTERNAL LED LIGHT. This enclosure features an internal LED light for improved visibility inside of the enclosure and can be adjusted directly on to the application. This light comes standard with every Hybrid Isolator Enclosure.

STANDARD SIZES. The Hybrid Isolator series is available in 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 foot standard width options. Customs are available.

Gloveboxes

SAFETY. The Glovebox Workstation series provides containment for highly toxic applications using APIs that need more safety than an opened face enclosure. FSI engineering controls are built in to prevent loss of containment. Third Party testing has proven containment on these units to below 50 ng/m³ based on process and quantity.

DESIGN. Designed as the next step in containment above the FSI Hybrid Isolator, this unit is able to effectively contain using HEPA clean air inlet and HEPA air out. This creates laminar airflow across the interior. The Glovebox Workstation is equipped with dual 4” thick HEPA filters that can be recirculated into the lab or sent directly to house exhaust.

ISO 5 INTERIOR CLEANLINESS. The HEPA inlet provides the interior with a laminar airflow. This HEPA clean environment meets or exceeds ISO 5 for clean processing of work while protecting operators from exposure.
FRONT LIFT DOOR. The glove ports sit in a front lift door that opens vertically to effectively load and unload equipment. This door is hinged for ease of use.

END Series

SAFETY. With HEPA filtration, a one way check valve, and the ability to connect to a house exhaust system, this product & personnel protection enclosure provides both the operator and the application inside the highest level of safety available. With FSI’s reputation for safety, and the ability to engineer containment for your application, it really does put this enclosure in a class of its own.

DESIGN. Using AGS (American Glovebox Society) guidelines the glovebox is designed with a 28” depth and comfortable 10” oval glove ports, allowing for minimized technician arm, wrist, and shoulder fatigue all while maintaining a controlled environment.

PHENOILIC BASE. The chemically resistant phenolic base is dished to maintain spills and coated to protect the work surface from harmful chemicals.
SEALED DOOR / TRANSFER PORT. For ease of loading and unloading equipment, the END series is available with a sealed door and a transfer port for sample loading and unloading.

STATIC DISSAPATIVE ACRYLIC WALLS. FSI uses clear acrylic walls with a static dissipative coating to reduce static in the enclosure.

PORTABLE DESIGN. This enclosure is lightweight which makes it easy to relocate as the dynamics of the laboratory space changes.

EVP Series

SAFETY. The Process Equipment Series provides safety from chemical vapors generated during processes such as flash chromatography, evaporation from rotary evaporators, and other process equipment applications.

DESIGN. Using a similar design to powder containment enclosures, the EVP series was developed for vapors to be removed from the application and lab. Vapors are pulled to the rear of the enclosure, then up through plenums to keep laminar flow across the work surface and remove vapors effectively.

PHENOILIC BASE. The chemically resistant phenolic base is dished to maintain spills and coated to protect the work surface from harmful chemicals.

DUAL HINGED FRONT SASH. For ease of loading and unloading equipment, this series features a front sash that makes it simple to load equipment, then run the application with a very small face opening to save energy.

ACRYLIC WALLS. FSI uses clear acrylic walls for increased visibility of the application.

PORTABLE DESIGN. This enclosure is lightweight which makes it easily movable as the dynamics of the laboratory space changes.

STANDARD SIZES. The EVP comes standard in both a 2’ and 3’ option to best fit your application. Custom options are also available.

FAF Series

DESIGN. Uniquely designed for safety and convenience, the SAF T FLOW™ features include a different kind of bypass system that assures all airflow entrained by the hood is actively used to engage, contain, and exhaust fumes from the containment area. High efficiency allows a high degree of energy saving which saves lots of money.

SAFETY. The SAF T FLOW™ lab fume hood series provides safety from chemical vapors generated during chemical processes including reflux, distillation, flash chromatography, evaporation, and other process equipment applications.

FLEXIBILITY. SAF T FLOW™ chemical hood uses the same overall design structure in all standard fume hood sizes to maximize simplicity in lab planning, layout, and HVAC coordination. This approach allows any popular low flow exhaust option without requiring expensive retrofits to the hood.

SLIDE-OUT TOP SYSTEM. Sometimes tops shatter. The slide-out feature allows complete top replacement without lifting the fume hood superstructure and disconnecting plumbing and ductwork.

STABILIZING BAFFLE CONTROL SYSTEM. Slots oriented in both X and Y axis promote even air flow back into the hood interior from top to bottom of the sash opening. The rear baffle is also removable for easy fume hood cleaning.

QUICK-SET SCAFFOLDING SYSTEM. Detachment knobs make for quick scaffolding setup and easy rear baffle removal for cleaning of the fume hood.

CLEAR CORD FLIP-UP AIRFOIL. Used for safe cord routing and airflow direction in the chemical fume hood.

HEAVY GUAGE SUPERSTRUCTURE AND CHAIN DRIVE. 14 and 18 gauge framing system and #35 steel chain drive will run 500,000 cycles without breaking.
